Cherie Morgan
Director and Head Teacher
Cherie Morgan is a Melbourne-born flamenco dancer and teacher whose training began at age two with ballet before expanding into classical Spanish dance and flamenco. In her late teens, she moved to Spain, spending much of her twenties training with world-renowned artists including La Truco, Miguel Cañas, Carmela Greco, Milagros Menjíbar, Luisa Palacio, Javier Barón, and Carmen Ledesma at Amor de Dios (Madrid) and La Fundación Cristina Heeren (Seville). She also holds diplomas in Dance and Music Theatre, is a qualified personal trainer, and continues to hone her craft through annual study trips to Spain.
Highlights of Cherie’s learning journey include an intensive 2018 mentorship with acclaimed flamenco dancer Pepa Molina in Sydney — a formative experience that helped shape her teaching approach. In 2023, she was awarded a scholarship at Los Veranos Flamencos at Amor de Dios in Madrid, returning in 2024 to continue her studies with leading international artists.
Her performance career has taken her from regional tours of Australia to stages in Spain, including solo appearances in Seville’s Miércoles a Compás series. She has performed at major festivals, held residencies, and, in 2024, appeared in We Call it Flamenco at Melbourne’s Capitol Theatre, choreographed by Madrid-based dancer Cristian Pérez. Through her school Flamencollab, Cherie shares her passion, experience, and fresh inspiration with her students and audiences.
Laura Uhe
Laura began her dance training in classical ballet before discovering flamenco and Spanish Classical dance in 1985. She trained extensively across Australia and Spain with renowned artists including Antonio Vargas, Carmela Greco, La Tati, Ciro, Sara Baras and Rafaela Carrasco. Her extensive performance career includes the Antonio Vargas Flamenco Dance Theatre Company and Opera Australia’s Carmen, where she performed as a flamenco dancer and later Dance Captain. A qualified teacher, Laura has taught flamenco and dance throughout Australia and brings decades of performance and teaching experience to her students.
Tomas Arroquero
Tomas trained for seven years at Madrid’s renowned Amor de Dios, studying with artists including María Magdalena, El Ciro and Paco Romero, before continuing his development in Jerez de la Frontera and Seville. His extensive performance career spans Spain, Europe and Australia, including Madrid’s prestigious Casa Patas and London’s Royal Albert Hall, where he shared the stage with Tomatito. Tomas has taught flamenco internationally and currently teaches in Melbourne, while continuing to explore flamenco through performance, collaboration and contemporary dance practice.
Noemy Ruiz
Madrid-born flamenco teacher Noemy Ruiz began dancing at age three and performing by nine. She completed the Carrera de Danza Española y Flamenco in Madrid and has continued her training with renowned artists including Antonio Canales, Paloma Gómez and Aloña Alonso. Noemy joined Flamencollab in 2022, and her teaching focuses on musicality, confidence and joy in movement while sharing flamenco’s rich cultural heritage.
Ana Cristina Sandoval
Ana Cristina discovered flamenco in her home country of Venezuela and has been dancing for nearly a decade. With a deep passion for the art form, she loves sharing flamenco with young dancers and helping them build confidence, express themselves and have fun through movement. Ana Cristina is dedicated to creating a positive and inspiring environment where children can develop their own love for flamenco.
